The Municipal Council for the Rights of the Elderly of Cotia (CMDPI) has open registration for the electoral process that will choose three civil society representatives to serve on the Council until the end of the current term, scheduled for February 27, 2027.
The election will be held on October 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at the Municipal Department of Social Development, located at avenida Benedito Isaac Pires, 35, 4th floor, in Cotia.
According to the public notice, the process is intended for civil society entities and organizations that meet the requirements established in the legislation and in the call notice.
Vacancies
Three vacancies intended for civil society will be filled:

Registrations must be made by October 5, at the CMDPI headquarters, at avenida Benedito Isaac Pires, 35, 4th floor, Cotia.

Complaints or challenges must present the reasons and the grounds, in addition to the complete identification of the complainant and the challenged candidate, as established in the public notice.
Election
The electoral plenary will be formed by representatives of the entities participating in the process, according to the categories provided for in the public notice, in addition to the civil society councilors present on the day of the election.
Each qualified representative will be entitled to vote. The choice will be made by ballot, and the candidates who obtain the highest number of votes in their respective categories will be elected. In case of a tie, the older candidate will be considered elected.
The participation of civil society entities contributes to broadening representation in the CMDPI and strengthening social participation in the construction and monitoring of public policies aimed at the elderly population of Cotia.
After the vote count, those elected will sign the term of office before the CMDPI, and their names will be forwarded by the Municipal Department of Social Development for legal procedures.
